About Us

Lori Findlay-Mead

Lori Findlay-Mead

Findlay's Vacuum & Sewing Machines is a second-generation business. Founder & father Doug Findlay started the business more than 40 years ago, but it has been his eldest daughter & current owner Lori Findlay-Mead who has brought it to the place it is today! Lori's reputation has been built over the last 20 years, with what started as simply a vacuum & sewing sales & repair shop, has now evolved into a one-stop shop for all your vacuuming, sewing & quilting needs!

"I am often asked why vacuums & sewing machines? My answer is why not? It seems like the perfect fit! As sewers & quilters we leave little trails of fibres everywhere."

Our Store in Orchard Plaza

"In 2006 I added quilting fabric to my store! Which was such a great fit since I have offered a wide array of classes in almost every form of sewing art for years, why wouldn't I have fabrics too!" When you walk into Lori's shop, you are immediately hit with inspiration, by all of the embroidery and quilting projects that are proudly displayed everywhere! Every project on display is also a class being taught in her store. Whether you are looking to learn how to sew, quilt, embroider or embellish, or have done so for years, Lori has something available for you. Check out the classes we offer
